Excuse me for being in hibernation mode lately, I was on the road this past weekend for a NL Only Fantasy Keeper Auction draft. On Monday Night, I participated in the 1st annual Greener on The Other Side Experts League draft.
The field of other owners included Adam Ronis of Newsday, Jordan Frank of Roto Rob , Brad Stewart of MLB Front Office, Geoff Stein of Mock Draft Central, Mike Sessa and Chris Corcione of Pseudo Sports , Rudy Gamble Razzball, Eric Stashin of Roto Professor, Sean Salsbery of Warning Track Power , Ken Matheof Roto Advice , and Arnie The Regular Guy, and Jay and Brett of Greener On Other Side.
Here are the results from the draft on my picks where I picked 8th on the odd rounds, and 5th on the even rounds:
Round 1 – Chase Utley – I have always thought that if I was building a team from scratch, Utley would be one of the players I would use. Mainly, because he is head and shoulder better than his peers at this position. He is the Jeff Kent of 2000s.
Round 2- Jake Peavy – Are you kidding me, the Tom Seaver of this decade. Had Santana still been available, I might still go Peavy!
Round 3 – Troy Tulowitzki – He wont give you the SBs of a Reyes or Hanley, but what he accomplished last year was impressive.
Round 4 – Ian Kinsler – I wanted Cory Hart. But, he was chosen right before my pick. I went with another 20+/20+ guy
Round 5 – Chipper Jones – Hope he stay healthy. His VORP last year was great for a 35 year old
Round 6 – Josh Hamilton – Is this Wonderboy? He has been mashing in Cactus League
Round 7 – Todd Helton – Every Fantasy team needs a Todd Helton. Does well in 4 categories
Round 8 – Gary Sheffield – Risk pick here. But, still has upside with his head in the game.
Round 9 – John Lackey – The computer picked this one for me. I zoned out for a few minutes unfortunately.
Round 10 – Pat Burrell – He had a solid second half in 2007.
Round 11 – Brad Penny
Round 12 – Ted Lilly
Round 13 – Carlos Gómez
Round 14 – Andre Ethier
Round 15 – Derek Lowe
Round 16 – Kerry Wood
Round 17 – Todd Jones
Round 18 – Mark Reynolds
Round 19 – Iván Rodríguez
Round 20 – Aubrey Huff
Round 21 – Brian Bannister
Round 22 – Bill Hall
Round 23 – Reggie Willits
Round 24 – Tadahito Iguchi
Round 25 – Tom Glavine
Round 26 – Lyle Overbay
Round 27 – A.J. Pierzynski
Round 28 – Eric Chávez
I have already picked up another pitcher in Barry Zito, Dropping Eric Chávez

I think that might be little bit risky with Sheffield so high up at his age, but he does have a proven career record. I would have picked more Mets though!
